The Town of LaSalle has become a wonderful community to raise a family or retire in and I want to continue to build a strong, safe community for all of our residents. It is important that we encourage development & growth and create a climate where small businesses can prosper. We must continue to protect LaSalle's natural environment that makes our town so beautiful. It is important that we maintain the level of service that the Town of LaSalle is known for while keeping a close eye on taxation and spending of tax dollars. We must build partnerships in the community with service clubs and local groups and we must work together to improve our relationships with provincial and federal government agencies. My vision for LaSalle is to give our residents an affordable place to call home, that offers all the amenities they need and allows them to enjoy a healthy, active community.
My platform is based upon a survery conducted and many conversations with our residents and if elected I will focus on:
-
Continuing our trail system to eventually link the entire town
-
Focus on our waterfront. Develop a marketing plan to revitalize Front Rd. and attract new businesses to the Nautical mile
-
Work hard with administration to find a suitable solution to improve the traffic flow and safety of the Malden/Reaume intersection.
-
Implement strategies to decrease speeding through out LaSalle.
-
Ensure our seniors on fixed incomes can still afford to live in our town without fear of not being able to pay their bills
-
Provide our youth with safe neighbourhoods and playgrounds
-
Encourage development and growth, attract new businesses to our area and create a climate where small businesses can prosper
-
Continue to work with administration to offer new festival and events in our town (ie. craft beer festival, movie nights in the park)
-
I will continue to support our local law enforcement
-
Hold the line on taxes and keep a close eye on spending of tax dollars
-
Continue to work with our administration to make sure our town is AODA compliant before 2025 and accessible for all residents. We need to integrate accessibility into everything we do, until it becomes second nature.
-
Continue to work on The Town of LaSalle's carbon footprint by increasing our Recycling efforts throughout the entire town.
I love the Town of LaSalle and I care about it's future, that is why I decided to run 8 years ago. Our town is a great place to live, we have so much to offer our residents but we need to make sure we listen to their needs and concerns. We need to invest in our future, protect what we have built and continue to offer our residents an affordable place to live and play.
